HACCP food safety certification
Approved by AUS-QUAL against Codex Alimentarius HACCP, CXC 1-1969 as revised in 2022. Hazards are identified at every step of production and controlled at the points that matter, across processing, chilling and packing. Big River Pork has held this approval since December 2002, the plant's first full year of operation.
BRCGS Food Safety, Grade AA
Audited against the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety, Issue 9, and graded AA with no exclusions from scope. BRCGS is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative and required by many of the major retailers we supply. Certified by AUS-QUAL, accredited by JAS-ANZ.
AAWCS animal welfare certification
Certified by AUS-MEAT Limited against the Industry Animal Welfare Standard for Livestock Processing Establishments, audited on site with pigs as the certified scope.
South Australian meat processing accreditation
Accredited by the Government of South Australia under the Primary Produce (Food Safety Schemes) Act 2004 to carry out meat processing at Murray Bridge, covering animal processing, boning and further processing, and the manufacture of salted and cured smallgoods.
