Purpose-built for high-quality export Australian pork
Big River Pork is South Australia’s largest pork processing facility and one of the largest in Australia. From our purpose-built plant at Murray Bridge, fifty minutes from Adelaide, we process for many of Australia’s leading pork producers and processors, and supply the country’s major retailers.
The plant is a certified, export-accredited and biosecure facility, maintaining strict hygiene, work health and safety and environmental standards with a high focus on animal welfare. We continue to invest significantly in improving the facility year on year.
More than 500 people work here, a multicultural team drawn predominantly from Murray Bridge and the wider community, and a positive culture makes Big River Pork an employer of choice in the region.

Where you could work
Four different kinds of work, one site, and training that lets you move between them.
Hands-on roles across the processing floor, value-added operation and load-out. No experience needed, you earn from day one with full on-the-job training, building multi-functional skills across the plant.
Skilled boners and slicers in a modern, high-throughput boning room producing export-quality Australian pork. Experienced knife hands are always in demand.
Trade-qualified fitters and electricians keeping a purpose-built plant running at full capacity, chillers, packaging equipment and materials handling.
Payroll, administration and office support behind one of the largest employers in the Murray Bridge region, full time and part time.
Our operation
Every stage on one site, to one set of standards
Receival, processing, boning, offal, carton and load-out all happen at Murray Bridge, so nothing changes hands between stages and one standard applies across all of them.
Those standards are not ours to mark alone. Quality, animal welfare, safety and environmental practice are independently audited, and government regulators work on site as part of the day-to-day operation.

Biosecurity
A state-of-the-art biosecure facility
Biosecurity is controlled at every point of the site. Access, movement and hygiene are managed to protect the herd health of the producers we work with and the integrity of the product we deliver.
That includes a purpose-built three-bay truck wash, the only one of its kind on site at a South Australian pork processing facility, where every vehicle is thoroughly washed, cleaned and sterilised before it returns to farm.
